I’ve spent my career helping people protect what matters most, and that starts with everyday conversations about Auto Insurance, Home Insurance, and Life Insurance. My name is Ben Bartelt, and I’m proud to serve Albert Lea, MN and the surrounding communities. I graduated from St. John’s University with a degree in Business and Mathematics, and I strongly believe that learning never stops. In June of 2023, I continued my education through the American College of Financial Services. I earned my ChFC® designation on 8/1/2022 and my CLU® designation on 6/1/2023, both of which help me better serve customers with their financial and Life Insurance needs.

I became insurance licensed in 2009, and from the start, I found a real passion in helping people recover from unexpected events. I’ve seen what it means when someone needs to replace a total loss vehicle, rebuild a detached garage after a fire in the middle of the night, or receive a life claim so their family can focus on what truly matters without added financial stress. These moments are why we focus on preparing for the unexpected and building a confident future together.

On a personal note, I married my wife Susan on my birthday, October 30th, which makes that date easy to remember. We have three incredible kids who keep us busy with, fast-pitch softball, baseball, football, volleyball, and hockey! Susan works as a Registered Nurse in wound care at Mercy Hospital in Mason City, and our family life keeps us closely connected to this area and the people who live here.

Outside the office, my passions include family, golfing, fishing, camping, hunting, traveling, and taking care of my insureds. I’m an active Albert Lea Chamber member and volunteer my time as President of St. Theo’s School Board, which allows me to give back to the community that has given so much to my family.

I’m also grateful for the second family I have here at the office: Amy Rehnelt, Jami Johnston, and Josie Venem. We take pride in helping customers prepare for and recover from financial loss. One State Farm Claims adjuster once shared, “You’re going to make it through it. You’re going harder than any agent I’ve ever worked with... including hurricane claims... you’re definitely different when it comes to helping out on a claim... much respect.” That kind of feedback reinforces how seriously we take serving our customers. Our office serves the greater Albert Lea area and Northern Iowa, including Clarks Grove, Hollandale, Alden, Ellendale, Hayward, Glenville, Geneva, and throughout Freeborn County.
